What is Conjunctions? 


Friends,Conjunction is that word that interconnects two words or sentences, it is called a conjunction like:-( and, or, but, after, before etc.
Doston, conjunction vah shabd hai jo do shabdon ya vaakyon ko aapas mein jodane ka kaam karata hai., isalie ise samuchchayabodhak (sanyojan) kaha jaata hai:-( jaise: - aur, ya, lekin, kyonki, baad, pahale aadi.)


     Example in sentences:-

  • Soni and Moni are best friends.
  • I like song but do not like movies.

In the sentences above, "and" "but" are examples of conjunctions
Upar die gae vaakyon "and" 'but" conjunction ke udahaaran hai.


Types of Conjunctions


Friends mainly conjunction are of three types which are given below.
Doston mukhy roop se conjunction teen prakaar ke hote hain jo neeche die gae hain.

  1. Coordinating conjunctions
  2. Subordinating conjunctions
  3. Correlative conjunctions


1). Coordinating Conjunctions

The conjunction word that combines two sentences of two equal levels or independent is called the coordinating conjunction.
Samanvay sanyojak shabd vah hai jo do samaan staron ke do vaakyon ko milaata hai ya svatantr hota hai, samanvay sanyojak kahalaata hai.

  • [and, or, but, because, therefore, so, otherwise, while, since, before, after, still, yet, whatever, whenever, though/although , wherever, till, until, unless, nevertheless, nor, neither.]

      Let's understand with some examples:-
  • Ram is smart and Shaloo is fool.
  • I like reading novel but don't like writing novel.
  • He can plan to go to Britain or America.
  • David was absent yesterday therefore he was fined.
  • I don’t eat Cashew nor do I eat almond.
  • He gave me money because I needed.
  • We are late, so we should not travel.
  • Do hurry up otherwise you'll be late for exam.
  • He is young while his brother is old.
  • Since you are sitting here, You are gazing me.
  • I will leave for home before his coming.
  • He reached after his leaving.
  • He is rich still he is unhappy.
  • Ram worked hard, yet he failed.
  • He was very weak, however he lifted sack of 50kg.

  • Ram chatur hain aur shaaloo moorkh hai.
  • Mujhe upanyaas padhana pasand hai lekin upanyaas likhana pasand nahin hai.
  • Vah briten ya amerika jaane kee yojana bana sakata hai.
  • Devid kal anupasthit tha isalie us par jurmaana lagaaya gaya tha.
  • Main kaajoo nahin khaata aur na hee main baadaam khaata hoon.
  • Usane mujhe paise die kyonki mujhe zaroorat thee.
  • Hamen der ho chukee hai, isalie hamen yaatra nahin karanee chaahie.
  • Jaldee karo anyatha aapako pareeksha ke lie der ho jaegee.
  • Vah chhota hai, jabaki usaka bhaee boodha hai.
  • Jab se tum yahaan baithe ho, tum mujhe dekh rahe ho.
  • Main unake aane se pahale ghar ke lie nikal jaoonga.
  • Vah unake jaane ke baad pahuncha.
  • Vah ameer hai phir bhee vah dukhee hai.
  • Raam ne kadee mehanat kee, phir bhee ve asaphal rahe.
  • Vah bahut kamajor tha, firbhi usane 50 kilo kee boree utha lee.


2). Subordinating Conjunctions

In this type of conjunction, we combine an independent sentence and a phrase. We call them subordinate conjunctions.
Is prakaar ke sanyojan mein, ham ek svatantr vaaky aur ek vaakyaansh ko jodate hain. ham unhen gaun sanyojak kahate hain.gaun sanyojak shabd hain: -

  • [As well as, so that, provided that, even if, as if/as though, as soon as, as long as, as, as far as, unless, until, when, whenever, wherever, while, through]

      Let's understand with some examples:-
  • Ram as well as Sohan leave here.
  • He earned money so that he could study in America.
  • I will teach you provided that you will pay money.
  • Even if you give me fees or not. I will teach you.
  • He looks as if he is frighten.
  • I will leave for office as soon as he comes.
  • As long as I am alive you should not earn money.
  • I decided to die as she doesn't love me.
  • As far as I know, he is.
  • Unless it rains, i will not do farming.
  • This train passes through forests.
  • You can live wherever you want.

  • Raam ke saath-saath sohan bhee yahaan se chala gaya.
  • Usane paisa kamaaya taaki vah amerika mein padhaee kar sake.
  • Main tumhen padhaoonga basarte ki tum paise doge.
  • Bhale hee aap mujhe phees den ya nahin. main tumhen padhaoonga.
  • Vah aisa lagata hai maano vah bhayabheet hai.
  • Usake aate hee main ophis ke lie nikal jaoonga.
  • Jab tak main jinda hoon tumhen paise nahin kamaane chaahie.
  • Mainne marane ka phaisala kiya kyonki vah mujhase pyaar nahin karatee.
  • Jahaan tak mujhe pata hai, tum usake bhaee ho.
  • jab tak baarish nahin hogee, main khetee nahin karoonga.
  • Yah tren jangalon se hokar gujaratee hai.
  • Aap jahaan bhee chaahen rah sakate hain.


3). Correlative Conjunctions

Such pairs of two words that are meant to connect sentences, have the same importance of a sentence, called correlative conjunctions.
Do shabdon ke aise jode jo vaakyon ko jodane ke lie hote hain, ek vaaky ka ek hee mahatv hota hai, jise sahasambandhee sanyojak kaha jaata hai.

  • [so...that, such...that, both...and, whether...or not, as...as, so...as, either ... or, not only...but also, too...to, neither...nor, as much...as, no sooner...than, rather...than, lest...should ]

      Let's understand with some examples:-
  • He speaks so fast that I cannot hear.
  • He spoke in such a low voice that few could hear him.
  • He speaks both Hindi and English.
  • Either Mohan or Sohan will go to Delhi.
  • Neither Vishal nor Sumit will sing song.
  • He will earn whether you give him job or not.
  • He lost not only his watch but also his money.
  • He is not as mad as you.
  • As you want so I will do.
  • She is too week to attend the class.
  • Write it down lest you should forget it.
  • No sooner had his father come than the he ran away from there.
  • I would rather read book than than newspaper.

  • Vah itanee tejee se bolata hai ki main sun nahin sakata.
  • Vah itanee kam aavaaz mein bola ki thoda hee use sun saka.
  • Vah hindee aur angrejee donon bolata hain.
  • Ya to mohan ya sohan dillee jaenge.
  • Na to vishaal aur na hee sumit gaana gaega.
  • Vah kamaee karega chaahe aap use naukaree den ya nahin.
  • Usane na keval apanee ghadee balki apane paise bhee kho die.
  • Vah utana paagal nahin hai jitana ki aap.
  • Jaisa aap chaahate hain vaisa main karoonga.
  • Vah itanee kamajor hai ki klaas nahin le sakatee hai .
  • Ise likh lo aisa na ho ki tum ise bhool jao.
  • Jaise hee usake pita jee aaye vah vahaan se bhaag gaya.
