What is Noun and Its Types?

Today in this blog, we will know what is Noun? What are the different types of Noun? and learn to identify Noun.

आज इस Article में, हम जानेंगे की Noun क्या है? Noun कितने प्रकार के होते हैं? और Noun की पहचान करना सीखेंगें।

What is Noun?(संज्ञा क्या है?)

A word that tells about the name of a person, a place,a thing or about the feelings is called "Noun". For example: Ram,Delhi,Table, Childhood.
एक word जो किसी व्यक्ति, किसी स्थान, किसी चीज़ या भावनाओं के नाम के बारे में बताता है, उसे "संज्ञा" (noun)कहा जाता है: Example के लिए राम, दिल्ली, तालिका, बचपन।

Types of Noun(संज्ञा के प्रकार)

• 1).Proper noun
• व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा
• 2).Common noun
• जातिवाचक संज्ञा
• 3).Collective noun
• समूहवाचक संज्ञा
• 4).Abstract noun
• भाववाचक संज्ञा
• 5).Material noun
• द्रव्यवाचक संज्ञा

1). Proper Noun

The word that tells about the particular name of a person, thing or place is called proper noun i.e., Mohan, Red Fort, Patna etc.
किसी व्यक्ति, वस्तु या स्थान के विशेष naam के बारे में बताने वाले शब्द को व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा (proper noun)कहते हैं example के लिए मोहन, लाल किला, पटना आदि।

      Examples in Sentence:-

• Ram is a good student.
• राम एक अच्छा छात्र हैं।
• Delhi is a clean city.
• दिल्ली एक स्वच्छ शहर है।
• The Red fort is built by Shah Janhan
• लाल किला को शाहजहाँ ने बनवाया था।
• He has a dog named Tommy.
• उनके पास टॉमी नाम का एक कुत्ता है।

2). Common Noun

The words that tells about the class ,kind, caste of a person, place or things is called common noun i.e.,boy, cow, home etc.
किसी व्यक्ति, स्थान या चीजों के वर्ग, प्रकार, जाति के बारे में बताने वाले words को सामान्य संज्ञा/जातिवाचक संज्ञा (common noun)कहा जाता है, example के लिए लड़का, गाय, घर आदि।

      Examples in Sentence:-

• He plays football with intensity.
• वह तीव्रता के साथ फुटबॉल खेलता है।
• Mahesh is his mentor.
• महेश उनके गुरु हैं।
• Roshni has a house across the river.
• रोशनी का नदी के पार एक घर है।
• His friend is very helpful.
• उसका दोस्त बहुत मददगार है।

3). Collective Noun:

The word that tells about the group or collection of things is called collective noun i.e., class, assembly, pair etc.

वह जो समूह या चीजों के संग्रह के बारे में बताता है, उसे समूहवाचक संज्ञा (collective noun)कहा जाता है, example के लिए क्लास ,असेंबली, जोड़ी आदि।

      Examples in Sentence:-

• My class took a trip to the Delhi Science museum.
• मेरी कक्षा ने दिल्ली विज्ञान संग्रहालय की यात्रा की।
• Seeing the lion, herd of Sheep started to run.
• शेर को देखकर भेड़ों का झुंड भागने लगा।
• Basketball team will not play in tournament this year.
• बास्केटबॉल की टीम इस साल टूर्नामेंट में नहीं खेलेगी।
• Pakistan’s army was finally defeated at Kargil.
• कारगिल में पाकिस्तान की सेना को आखिरकार हार मिली।

4). Abstract Noun

The words that tells about the feelings is called abstract noun i.e., childhood love etc. 

भावनाओं के बारे में बताने वाले शब्दों को भाववाचक संज्ञा कहा जाता है यानी बचपन का प्यार आदि।

      Examples in Sentence:-

• I am not interested in games.
• मुझे खेलों में कोई दिलचस्पी नहीं है।
• She had pain in her stomach.
• उसके पेट में दर्द था।
• There is lots of energy in the vegetable.
• सब्जी में बहुत ऊर्जा होती है।
• I like his honesty.
• मुझे उनकी ईमानदारी पसंद है।

5). Material Noun

The words that ells about the material of the things is called material noun i.e., gold silver etc.

वे शब्द जो चीज़ों की सामग्री के बारे में बताते हैं, उन्हें भौतिक संज्ञा/ द्रव्यवाचक संज्ञा कहा जाता है, अर्थात् सोने ,चांदी आदि।

      Examples in Sentence:-

• Gold is yellow.
• सोना पीला है।
• The brass is a metal.
• पीतल एक धातु है।
• Water is pure.
• पानी शुद्ध है।
• My bat is made of wood.
• मेरा बल्ला लकड़ी से बना है।
