What is O Level Computer Course?
- The full form of O Level is "Ordinary Level". This is a diploma course, in which basic knowledge of computer and all types of applications are told. O level course is of 1 year. It is semester wise study. There are total 2 semesters and to do this course. For this the minimum qualification should be 12th pass. Which is conducted by NIELIT i.e. National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology. The duration of this course is 1 year.
- National Institute of Electronic Information Technology (NIELIT) is a reputed institute for enhancing digital literacy in the country. The sole objective of this institution is to rapidly increase computer literacy in the country, earlier it was known by the name of DOEACC society (Department of Electronic Recognition of Computer Courses)
- Under which now A Level, B Level, CCC and O Level courses are also conducted by NIELIT. Talking about how much time it takes to do this, it is completed in 1 year. And the recognition of O level course certificate is equivalent to CS diploma done from a university.
Eligibility Criteria for O Level
If we talk about O Level then it provides information about Foundation Syllabus of Information Technology.Which is a diploma course offered by NIELIT, any student who is 10+2 pass out or who have ITI (Certificate of Industrial Training Institute) can also take admission in this course, along with this course you can do A level also.
O Level Admission Process
- There are two process of application or admission in O level course. One, you can take admission in any institute which is registered under National of Electronic & Information Technology, or you can register yourself by visiting the website of NIELIT along with the one who has 12th passed out or ITI passed. Only that student is eligible for admission,
- It must be kept in mind that if you take admission in any institute, then the fee or payment etc. given by you is done by the institution itself and they also charge you the fee for doing o level course from any institute or institution. The institution also takes care of classes and syllabus.

O Level Course Exam Process
- The process of O level computer course exam takes place twice in a year. Along with this, for whichever examination session you apply, your examination starts in the month of January or July of this session.
- With this, as I have already said, this exam is taken in two ways, one in theory and the other in practical o level computer course, you have to give 4 exams and it is in 2 parts.
- Part 1 in which you have to solve 40 question paper sheet. To solve which you will get 1 hour time and this paper is of 40 marks in which it is compulsory to get more than 20% marks.
- Now after this you will have to solve 60 questions in part 2, you will have to solve this paper on white sheet and for this you will be given 2 hours time. And it is of 60 marks, out of which it is compulsory to bring you 30 marks.
- After passing 4th exam in O level computer course, you have to apply for practical exam, this paper also happens in 2nd part in the same way.
- Part 1 in which you have to give online exam on computer and it is of 80 marks, and part 2 is of viva which is of only 20 marks. Similarly, the complete practical is of 100 marks.
O level Course Results
- After doing O level computer course, the information about its result is given on the website of NIELIT only after 2 months of the conduct of the examination. From where students can download it and can also download it in pdf. Students who complete this course from the institution,
- They can also get from that institution, the marks of the examination are calculated on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate in the computer-based examination.
- In which only those who get more than 50% marks are considered passed, let us tell you that the marks of practical are not added to the exam result, but still you need to finish the project along with pass out to get the O level certificate.
